Create a tournament from your dashboard. Set its dates and day hours, add grades and entries, then set up playing areas and their availability. Open Schedule to check capacity and review the draw before saving it.

A grade is a separate competition, such as Under 12 or Open. In Grades, choose the competition format, match length, team rest and scoring rules. In Entries, add each team or participant to the correct grade. You can also use Excel Import to bring in entries.

Yes. On Schedule, select “Skip grades with no entries”. These grades stay in your setup, but the scheduler will only create matches for grades with entries.

It builds a schedule preview using match length, changeover time, team rest, playing-area availability and other grade rules. A preview does not change the saved schedule. Review the timetable and any matches that could not be placed before choosing Save schedule.

There may be too little playing time, too few available areas, or restrictions on team rest or grade availability. Check the suggestions on Schedule, then adjust Playing Areas or the tournament day hours and check capacity again. Enough slots alone do not guarantee that every match can fit around all the rules.

Open Tournament details from the tournament overview or Playing Areas. When changing day hours, you can choose “Update matching playing-area and grade hours too”. This updates hours that follow the previous day-time boundaries; custom hours and blocked periods stay as set. Review Playing Areas, then check capacity again before saving a revised schedule.

When selected, every match in a round must be scheduled before the next round begins. Later rounds can still play on the same day when time and team rest allow. Leave it off when you want the scheduler to have more flexibility to place matches.

For a round-robin grade with finals, you can enable “Placement playoffs for every team” in Grades. The top four play for the leading places and the remaining teams play placement matches. This adds matches, so check capacity again. The option needs four teams or at least six teams; five-team grades are not supported.

Save the schedule, then use “Publish & spectator access” on Schedule to enable spectator access. Share the direct tournament link or QR poster. You can also add an optional tournament code and choose to list the event in Browse Public Tournaments. A tournament code is a shortcut, not a password.

Open Live Tournament Day and choose the playing area you are managing. Expand the match, start it and use its score controls. Check the save messages as you work. When play finishes, review the final score and finish the match. If the game has already been played, use “Enter final result instead”.

Use Scorers in the tournament menu to manage scoring access. Give scorers the access instructions shown there. Each scorer should sign in using their own account before the event; test their access and assigned scoring controls before the first game.

Use the match controls in Live Tournament Day to move or reschedule a game. “Delay from here” lets you preview the later matches that need adjusting. Review the affected matches before confirming the changes. Public announcements can keep spectators informed.

Open the organiser’s link or scan their QR code. If you have a tournament code, enter it on the Matchground home page. Events listed publicly can also be found in Browse tournaments.

No. You can view a tournament with spectator access enabled without signing in. Organisers and scorers need accounts for their management and scoring controls.

Open My team in the tournament navigation and find your team. Its schedule shows match times, playing areas and results. Check the tournament name at the top so you know you are following the right event.

Fixtures is for finding match times, playing areas and finished results. Games in progress are marked as currently playing, with a link to Live. Open Live to follow the current scores and match clock. The Live page refreshes approximately every 15 seconds while it is visible and connected.

For round-robin grades, the live table can include the current scores of games in progress. These positions are provisional and may change until the games finish. Check the live-table notice and the tournament’s scoring rules when reading the standings.

Some finals depend on league placings or the result of an earlier match. The fixture may show a qualifying place or a match winner until the teams are known. Its scheduled time and playing area can still be shown.

Yes. On iPhone or iPad, open the site in Safari and use Share, then Add to Home Screen. On supported Android browsers, use the browser’s Install app or Add to Home screen option. You still need an internet connection for current scores and schedule changes.

Use the print option on the team schedule. Organisers can open the spectator QR poster and use its PDF option, which is useful when printing from the installed Home Screen app. Open the PDF and use your device’s share or print controls.
